How to add friends by Activision ID in Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard brings back the Activision ID system to allow for a more streamlined friends list, making adding friends easier.

So the website says I'm not banned but battle net still says I am does this mean there on the way to fixing it ? Anyone else have this too ?
