Originally broadcast in 2007 as a TV anime, this movie features numerous new scenes and re-recorded dialogue. The Dai-Gurren Brigade has defeated the Spiral King's Four Generals, and Simon has triumphed in a fierce one-on-one battle with the Spiral King, Lordgenome, in the royal capital of Teppelin. After capturing the capital, humanity swiftly built a new civilization. However, when they extended their reach into space, an unidentified enemy appears. Despite their efforts to resist, humanity is crushed by this overwhelming force. In their moment of despair, Simon and the Dai-Gurren Brigade rise once again. Kazuki Nakashima, a writer associated with the theater group "Gekidan☆Shinkansen," took on his first anime scriptwriting challenge with this work and continued to handle the script for the movie version. The production is by Gainax, known for "Neon Genesis Evangelion." In 2023, as part of a project commemorating the 15th anniversary of the movie's release, the film is being revived, including its first-ever 4D screening.
