Masahiro Andô There are many an anime produced about 'ronin', masterless samurai roaming the countryside in search for adventure and heroics, and titles such as Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), Samurai Champloo, Afro Samurai and the great Ninja Scroll all fit the bill. As does Sword of the Stranger, yet it adds some magic to the often austere subgenre, with great characters, stunning animation and genuinely impressive sword fight choreography.
