John D. Rockefeller Jr.

American philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr. (1874-1960) contributed greatly to the restoration of the Palace of Versailles in the early 20th century. Twice he donated part of his fortune to the restoration of the Palaces of Fontainebleau and Versailles, as well as to rebuilding Reims cathedral.
