The Oregon Golf Club Reception Venues - The Knot

I am genuinely confused as to why this place has the high ratings it does. I can only assume it is because at one point, people must have worked here that had even the most basic customer service and personal communication skills. Those days must be over. I assume the food would have been amazing but I never got there. What I got was four site visits to a beautiful place with four different people who can corroborate my story on the following: one coordinator rolling her eyes repeatedly and saying memorable things like "We are really just trying to fill our calendar", her supervisor claiming I must have "misunderstood the tone over email" of that first coordinator, then telling us that about a third of the outdoor patio space (incidentally, the third that makes the entire space gorgeous and has access to the beautiful view they boast) would actually be blocked off and not part of the site rental although it was initially and repeatedly presented as a feature. This information, by the way, was not disclosed up front, but revealed to me in the final hour of contract signing because I happened to ask just the right questions in just the right way. Other brides may not be so lucky. They're very responsive; a favorite response around here seems to be "my hands are tied", which is just the kind of confidence-inspiring, customer-advocating language you want to hear from someone you're spending $30,000 with. Although I spent months wishing and hoping and making excuses for the customer service RED FLAGS I experienced (to the bewilderment of the 4 people I mentioned before, and mostly because the space, which turned out not to really be the space, was so beautiful) it is finally clear to me that my business belongs elsewhere.
