Chess Pieces is a card in Tower of Doom. It is an unique item in the question. Chess Pieces functions similarly with Steel Socks. The reason for why their functions are so similar is because they both act under a certain circumstance. Chess Pieces will deal 4 damage to the enemy if you tie. It does not stack. This is great against enemies (especially bosses), since they are gonna tie with you lots of times. And if you have Toxic Waste, it multiplies it by 2.
